A chapter member\u2019s guest, whether as a rider or as a passenger, must read, and sign-off on the chapter\u2019s <\/b>\n
liability and release form, before departing on a ride with the club.<\/b><\/p><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
\u00a0Road Captains<\/b><\/p>\n
1.\u00a0Whenever possible there will be two (2) road captains on the ride;\u00a0\u00a0 Lead Road Captain<\/b> and Rear Road Captain<\/b>.<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0The Lead Road Captain will ride in the left side of the lane in front of the group.\u00a0\u00a0 Please obey the road captains when they ask you to move to a different spot.<\/p>\n
On Highway \u2013 Staggered Formatio<\/b>n<\/b><\/p>\n
(Indicated by waving hand left to right over head with two fingers raised)<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
1.\u00a0Keep a two (2) second interval from the bike in front of you in the same lane and avoid riding in anyone\u2019s blind spot, especially cars.<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0If a road captain drops out of line, for any reason, leave his\/her space open so he\/she can return to the same position in line.<\/p>\n
3.\u00a0If someone breaks down or drops out of line, do not stop on the highway<\/i><\/b>. Obey the Lead Road Captain who will pull off at the next exit or safe spot and wait for the Rear Road Captain to return to the group before going any further.<\/p>\n
4.\u00a0If there is a space in the line because of someone permanently<\/i><\/b> dropping out<\/i><\/b>, move forward in the same lane you are riding in<\/i><\/b>, passing the rider on your left or right to take up the space. The rest of the group will do the same, one at a time, until all the gaps are filled.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Changing Lanes (Group Riding Of Any Size)<\/b><\/p>\n
1.\u00a0Change lanes only during staggered formation.<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0When changing lanes, the lead road captain will signal he\/she is going to change lanes; everyone should then also signal.<\/p>\n
3.\u00a0 The Rear Road Captain will secure the lane.<\/p>\n
4.\u00a0Once the lane is secured:<\/i><\/b> the group will move to the lane from the front to the rear (<\/b>don\u2019t \u201cjump\u201d early<\/i><\/b>.)<\/b><\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Being Passed Or \u201cCut Into\u201d (Be especially careful when approaching highway Exit ramps)<\/b><\/p>\n
1.\u00a0Don\u2019t challenge cars!<\/i><\/b> When cars try to pass, or \u201ccut in\u201d our line of bikes<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0Leave a gap for them to pull into your lane without cutting you off<\/p>\n
3.\u00a0Remember\u2026they are BIGGER<\/b> than you.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n
Narrow<\/b> Two Lane Roads and Toll Booths \u2013 <\/b>Single File Formatio<\/b>n<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
1.\u00a0Ride in single file, one behind the other, Indicated by raising hand over head with index finger raised<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n
Other Signals and Rules<\/b><\/p>\n
1.\u00a0Point hand or foot down\u2026.warns other riders of road hazards or slippery conditions.<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0Palm up, waving hand up and down\u2026increase speed (go faster).<\/p>\n
3.\u00a0Palm down, waving hand up and down\u2026decrease speed (go slower).<\/p>\n
4.\u00a0Point to\u2026headlight if off; gas tank if you need gas; stomach if hungry.<\/p>\n
5.\u00a0Headlight on at all times makes you easier to see, and in most states it\u2019s the law.<\/p>\n
6.\u00a0Riders new to the Club will ride directly behind the Lead Road Captain.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b>Please arrive with gas tank filled and bike in top shape!!!<\/b><\/p>\n
